International graduates:

If you require a visa to attend the ceremony, please be aware that CIPS is not able to communicate with the High Commission on your behalf, and cannot act as a guarantor for you to travel to the UK.

How many tickets can I apply for?

You may purchase up to two additional guest tickets. The graduation package from William Northam includes one guest ticket. Additional tickets can be bought for £25.00 per person. There is no charge for children under the age of 14.

When will I receive my tickets?

You will be able to print off your e-tickets once you have purchased them online. You will be allocated with your seat number on the day.

What if I or my guests have a disability?

Arrangements can be made for anyone attending the graduation ceremony, either as a graduate or a guest, who may have a disability or other needs. If you have any guests with mobility difficulties, please contact us at graduation@cips.org  or by calling +44(0)1780 761527 so that we can seat them in a suitable area.

Are children allowed to attend the graduation ceremony?

Our graduation ceremonies are family occasions and we welcome your child’s attendance on this special day. Baby changing facilities are available. Under 14's are free to attend.

What should I wear for the ceremony?

We suggest that you wear smart business dress. The gown hood has a loop in front designed to hook over a button which keeps it tidy and in place: it is easier therefore if you wear a shirt, blouse or dress with buttons. Could we politely request that jeans or t-shirts are not worn.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony and how long does it last?

Doors will be open from 09.00, and robing will commence from 09.15. You MUST be robed and have gone through photography by 10.30 at the latest. Please leave plenty of time to travel. The ceremony itself will last about an hour and a half and will be followed by a drinks reception.

Will I be sitting with my guests during the ceremony?

No. Graduates will be seated in the nave  of the Cathedral in alphabetical order. Your family and friends will be seated elsewhere in the nave and aisles, they will not be allocated specific seats. You will be able to meet up with them once the ceremony is over.
